I wasn't trying to build
authority.
01 — Where it started
I started out in technology, and moved into systems architecture — solving hard problems behind the scenes.
02 — Fifteen years inside
Across fifteen years I moved from technology to systems architecture, then project and program management. Good work, a steady title — and by the end, complete burnout.
03 — The turning point
Burnout put me in the hospital for two weeks. It made me rethink how I wanted to work and live.
I left corporate life with no plan B.
The first year was brutal — long hours, and real doubt about whether any of it would work.
04 — The book
Then I wrote a book that helped people prepare for the project-management exam. Readers could see how I thought before we ever spoke — and it helped build my first business.
05 — The shift
More importantly, it changed how people saw me. Clients came easier. Trust came earlier. New opportunities appeared on their own.
I became obsessed with one question:
Why do some experts stay invisible while others become trusted authorities?
That question eventually became Authority Shift™ — the system I wish I’d had: turning experience into proof, instead of chasing attention.
